Eight years ago, I was an unemployed stay-at-home Mom and I began to notice a lump in my neck. It was on the outside of my esophagus on the right at the base of my neck, it grew over the course of a week or so and began to be very painful. I didn’t have insurance or the money to see a doctor and I have an inherent distrust of the medical prevention since medical errors claimed my mother and brother.
I decided to call a friend who is a nurse and see what her opinion was about it. She said I should come over because she might have an essential oil that would help me. I wasn’t sure what to think about that but I trusted her so I went to see what she had to offer.
On first sight she told me the whole side of my neck was swelled. Even to raise my arm created enough motion to cause pain to the area and I was really starting to get scared about it. I didn’t want to be treated like a guinea pig while someone in a white coat tried to figure out what was going on.
My friend reached into her bag and come up with a bottle of Young Living’s Thieves oil blend and put a couple of drops on my neck. As she explained to me why it was called Thieves oil I began to realize that my neck was getting really hot. I knew the smell was very strong and was sure this was a powerful blend. She gave me the bottle and told me to put a couple of drops on my neck, morning, noon and night until my symptoms went away.
After 4 days of using the blend as I was instructed, I felt I should give back her bottle, since I didn’t have money to pay for what I had used. By the 6th day since I had started using it, my symptoms were gone even though I had stopped using the oil. What I know now that I didn’t know then, is that when you use an oil consistently over time it comes to a level of saturation that will keep it working in your system for up to 7 days. All I knew was that what I was hurting me was gone and in 8 yrs it did not come back.
The reason the blend is called Thieves is that when the black plague was running rampant in Europe, a band of thieves were robbing the sick and the dead and they continued to for many years. When they were finally caught they revealed their secret of why they were able to be around the plague germs without catching it. They were perfumers and knew of the antimicrobial potential of the essential oils they used. Thieves is a proprietary blend available only through Young Living that contains the oils of clove, lemon, cinnamon, rosemary and eucalyptus. When I wear it I feel like I have a suit of armor to prevent germs.
Young Living has an entire line of products that are powered by the Thieves blend. I personally use the new Aromabright Toothpaste each day along with the Thieves Mouthwash. As I am developing my Young Living business I am doing residential cleaning and I use exclusively Thieves Household Cleaner. Especially this time of year I enjoy putting a few drops of Thieves on a paper towel and sucking it up in the vacuum cleaner. Not only does it kill germs in the air but it makes the house smell so inviting with none of the toxic chemicals that are often contained in many “air freshener” products. Next to my sinks I have a foamer of Thieves Hand Cleaner for germ protection whenever I wash my hands and I carry Thieves Hand Purifier in my purse whenever I leave home along with Thieves Dental Floss for needs on the go.
There are many more Thieves products and infinite uses for each. I quite frankly don’t know what I’d be doing without them! I am so grateful for that initial scare that introduced me to not only a whole new way of addressing my health and that of my family but to a whole new means of income and to the Young Living family which grows every day. I am so happy to have this experience, opportunity and these tools to share to help others advocate for their own health and that of their families. It gives me a broad range ability to respond to whatever happens whether its germs or injury. I exist in gratitude for what Wayne Dyer calls these “Little Bottles of God”
