Be careful what you ask for. . .

Last year I started learning about lymphology. I came to understand that it is very helpful to use a rebounding trampoline or “lymphosizer” to help move the lymphatic system. I told my sister that I was looking at a friend’s site and would love one of the lymphosizers that he offers but it wasn’t in my budget right then. About a month later I came home to find something on the table of my porch, with a note on it that said, Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas! Turns out a friend of my sister’s who was elderly and moving into a community home was liquidating her possessions, one of which just happened to be exactly the model I had wished for.

Thanks Sis!

More recently I was wishing for apples to be making apple sauce and all the  wonderful autumn concoctions, not to mention apples and peanut butter, a favorite snack for my son and I. A friend called to say that her family owns an orchard and they were done picking, and asked if I would like to come and pick whatever apples could use. Of course! I went and with the help of my friend and my son picked in the neighborhood of 5 bushels of apples. I peeled and prepped and shared with everyone who would take some and went back for a second and third trip which totaled around 16 bushels of an assortment of varieties which were so delicious and still are!

Generous friends are priceless!

Around the same time, another friend asked if I would like some organic concord grapes. They had more than they could use and welcomed me to pick all I liked. They have a ladder rack type arbor for them and gave me a step stool so it was beyond easy to pick them. I cleaned them, made juice which Harley was very pleased with and suggested we could use some more. He agreed to help me pick and process another batch which we did, gratefully. After he discovered how much work it was he decided we’d had enough grape juice when we ran out. Another friend said she had bags of grapes and more available if I would like them. Between what I’d already had and the apples, I’d done enough harvest time processing. I happened to be with a friend helping her make and can chili sauce and she said she had time to process grapes so I connected her with them. A few days later I found a basket on my front porch with 4 jars of chili sauce and 2 big jars of grape juice!

Mmmmm grape juice!

Mmmmm grape juice!

I shared all the apples I could get anyone to take and I still have a bunch. I was remembering that my Mom had a Foley Food Mill that made making applesauce so much easier and wished I had one for the rest of these apples and pears that I had been offered from my nephew’s tree. I found a food mill at a local market but wasn’t prepared to invest in it that day and decided to wait until I was sure my budget was all set. A few days later the same friend that had shared the grape juice and chili sauce, stopped by and brought me a brand new food mill as an early birthday gift! I started making more apple sauce that night. I still have some more to make and am so thankful to have this tool to make it so much easier.

Yay! A food mill!

Yay! A food mill!

A couple of weeks ago I decided to move the area rug from my living room, into the dining room next to the matching one I already had there with the intention that I would buy another carpet for the living room before winter set in to help the house be warmer. I do residential cleaning for my main financial support while I grow my Young Living business and expand my healing work. The clients I worked with today had purchased a set of 4 oriental rugs for their house during the summer. Three of the carpets were smaller with a larger one for the office of the man of the house. As he walked over it it acquired a wrinkle and with him being in his 80s, they were really concerned about it tripping him. When I got there today they announced that they had decided to discard the carpet and wanted to know if I wanted it and/or would help them remove it. I moved it right out to my car! Just so happens that it matches the colors I already have!

It fit the space perfectly!

It fit the space perfectly!

It has become clear to me that our intention and attention are both incredibly powerful. It is crucial, if you want to attract positive experiences into your life that you focus on what you DO wish for, rather than what you DON’T. I have heard it said that worrying is praying for what you don’t love. So instead of worrying about whether or not I could afford the carpet I’d like, I just set an intention that a new one would be in my near future and voila, without knowing where it would come from, it appeared, from a direction where they were so thankful for me to have it! Being in charge of your own thoughts can be so rewarding, literally!
